Lots and lots of changes have happened since I've last wrote. I lost 60 lbs and have since gained back 40 of them. I've moved into Annies house and am trying to sell mine. Katrina is now 18 and will be graduating in June. Then she is off to college in the fall! Imagine I have a child old enough to be going to college. She has a job at KFC which she actually started working on April 25, 2011. Date put down for posperity. Thats all for now, but I am going to try to come back and start posting again.

I will add that I have a new years resolution to knit 52 pair of slippers and donate them to a shelter. I have done the 52 slippers and now I am going to branch out into hats and scarves. Mind you this is all being done with my yarn stash. I have not bought one skein of yarn to do this project. I am actually trying to downsize my stash!.

November 16

So little blog I've iggy you for quite some time. Shame on me. Whats going on you ask? Well lets see. I've decided to make a lot of my christmas gifts this year. Dishcloths for Nana and Charlotte. Along with some bowtie scarves. Then Annie decided she wanted some for her girls. OMG knit knit knit. I think I can now make them scarves in my sleep. She wanted a black one and a white one for each. Then I also knitted whites ones for Nana and Charlotte

Here is a pic of a few of them:

Im working on a pair of socks for Sandy. She has horses... wish I could see them. She showed me a picture of them one day during session. I was so envious. Wish I could go see them. Anyway here is a sock plus some:

The afghan for Tiger has been giving me fits. It is made similiar to grannies favorite dishcloth. It is done corner to corner and for some reason the pattern just was not working out for me. But finally I got it right. Here is the beginning part of the afghan. When I get more ambition I will get a picture of how far I am. I would say at least a third of it is done. Im hoping to have this done by Dec 1.

Coming down to the wire

So we have all the major painting done. Or should I say Annie has all the major paingting done? I've done little painting as I can. Im a lousy painter. Anyway today we went shopping for curtains. What fun! I am glad her tastes and mine are somewhat similiar.

We brought some cream colored ones for the living room. The walls in there are a dark mustardly brown if that makes sense. The cream goes in there wonderfully. Then the bathroom is color theme is going to be black white and a tealy greenish/blue. So we tried for a matching rug. It was difficult so we ended up with a light cream rug and a white rug. I will have to keep my eyes open for some accent colored things for her. The craft room is called puppy paws. It is sorta a rusty rosish brown and the curtain in there will be a delicate peachy color, well that is what it looks like to me. Last of all her bedroom. OMG that was most difficult because I think we both see the blueish color on her walls differently. So she ended up getting a bedset (quilt, shams, and bed ruffle) these are in browns and creams, so the curtains are a light beige color. I think it will look nice.

Kitchen is last and we have not brought anything for it yet. Her kitchen is yellow and green, so of course I had to tease her about the colors, since she is from IL and is a bears fan. Anyway I want to make her a few more dishcloths as a house warming present (besides the coffee pot) I gave her two so far. Here is a pic of one of them.

It is the ballband pattern that you can find here: http://www.elmore-pisgah.com/Ballband%20Dishcloth.htm

Anne's house

Its been about a month now since Annie has signed on her house. WEve done lots of things to it.
1) paint paint paint paint etc... you get the drift
2) clean up all the door knobs door jams and door posts (Annie hates painted hardware on the doors
3) INstall new sink and countertop in the kitchen.
4) Jack her son has replaced all the plumbing with copper piping
5) scrubbed and scrubbed and then scrubbed some more the kitchen floor. OMG was that a mess
6) take apart the cupboards in the kitchen paint and rehand with new hardware
7) replace glass and paint the windows inside and out
8) Install newer electrical outlets
9) Mow the yard which was over a foot tall!
10) More painting.

Now comes the fun part

Decorating/accesorizing

So we go look at carpeting soon.
Boxes are slowly being brought over and placed in the one room that will not be carpeted. (The floor is nice enough that she thinks she can just buff up the hardwood. That'd be nice. Theat will be her computer/craft room.

Hot Water!

We had horrible flooding in WI on June 7th 2008. The sewer backed up in the basement. I had 2.5 feet of water in my basement. Thank the Lord that the only think of value I lost was my hot water tank. I tried for three weeks to dry the dang thing out. Just wasnt happening. So yesterday my Annie and I went to Lowes to get a new one. Her son Jack is 'almost' a certified plummer. I think he has little less then a year to his license. Anyway he is a sweetheart and he installed it for me last night.

You have no idea how much we take hot water for granted. Try going even just a week without it. YOu can bet I took a good long soak in a hot tub enjoying every second of it.
